This paper was carried out with the aim of studying successional process and classification of weed communities of no-cultivation paddy fields (including cultivated paddy fields) in Izena Islands. 2. The vegetation survey was carried out by using the phytosociological method of the Zürich-Montpellier school. 3. Ten vegetation samples were obtained from Phragmites Karka communities of no-cultivation paddy fields of Izena Islands. From the results of the tabulation method of Zürich-Montpellier school, the following vegetation units were clarrified: Phragmitetea Tx. et Prsg. 1942 Phragmitetalia Tx. et Prsg. 1942 Miscantho sachariflori-Phragmition Miyawaki et Okuda 1970 Phragmites Karka community Typical sub-community Thelypteris acuminata sub-community 4.
