The factor reducing the fruit yield in 1997 was examined in the relation of yield and typhoon attack. a) The flowering rate and growth of pineapples was inhibited due to the typhoon attack in the vigorous stage and the smaller size of the fruit was stimulated. b) Since \"Yield = planting density x flowering rate x fruit weight\", the decrease in fruit weight and flowering rate affected the decreased yield remarkably. c) Since the typhoon was encountered in the harvest time, the damage expanded by defect of the fruit and lodging of the ratoon plant. 2.
