OBJECTIVE：Patients who had undergone percutaneous tracheostomy uslnga percutaneous tracheostomy kit were evaluated. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Six patients were evaluated who had undergone tracheostomy in Okinawa MedicalHospital between May 2005 and December 2006. RESULTS: We performed tracheostomy using a percutanepus tracheostomy kit in 6 patients consisting of 2 men and 4women, With a mean age of 65.5years. We were able to complete the procedure in all patients within 10 min. One patient(16.6％) developed pneumothorax as a complication.
