A 38-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of a huge cystic mass with abdominal distension in the right lobe of the liver. Both CT and MRI findings were suggestive of simple liver cyst, for which a laparoscopic deroofing operation was performed. Residual wall of cyst adhered to the hepatic parenchyma was burned by the argon beam coagulator. Intracystic fluid was found serous and clear in appearance, and about 4500ml in quantity. Pathological findings of the resected wall revealed benign and simple cyst. The postoperative course was uneventful, she was discharged from hospital on the 7th post operative day. The treatment options of the simple liver cyst are conventional operation, drug injection and CO2 gas injection.
