This plate is worn soon after birth until completion of palatoplasty. Therefore, Hotz plates have been used for early treatment of children with cleft lip and palate in our clinic. We studied the early effects on maxillary growth and feeding difficulties in cases where the plates were worn almost continuously until the first operation in 12 cases of unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP), and 10 cases of Bilateral cleft lip and palate (BCLP). For control cases, with unilateral cleft lip and palate (13 cases of UCLP, and 10 cases of BCLP) operated in our clinic and who did not wear Hotz plates were used. The results were as follows; 1. After setting the Hotz palatal plate, total milk volume increased and stipulated feeding time and decreased. 2. In the group that used Hotz palatal plates there was a reduction in both the major and minor segments so that their tips could touch each other. In the group that did not use Hotz plates, there was a reduction in the minor segment and it could go into the major segment and moved in under of it.3. The group which used the Hotz palatal plate had a tendency of having a reduction in cleft width. It is suggested that using the Hotz palatal plate reduces the cleft palate width an improves the alveolus bow form., 論文}, pages = {137--147}, title = {[原著]唇顎口蓋裂患者に対する Hotz 型人工口蓋床の臨床的効果について}, volume = {24}, year = {2005} }
