Bacteria on the surface of eggs-inoculated on diet was considered as a source of diet contamination. The surface of eggs were rinsed with 70% ethanol solution several times as follows; a half, 1, 2, and 5 minutes. Surface-sterilized eggs for 30 seconds did not permit the emergence of bacteria, indicating the necessity of sterilization of eggs more than 30 seconds to prevent the contamination of bacteria into an artificial larval diet. Eggs were then transferred to artificial larval diet after they were dipped in 5% formaldehyde solution to sterilize for 20 minutes. The dipping treatment could significantly suppress the emergence of bacteria for a long period and produced significantly more surviving weevils from artificial larval diet than no treatment control diet., 論文}, pages = {57--60}, title = {イモゾウムシの卵接種が起因となる人工幼虫飼料汚染の防止}, volume = {37}, year = {2003} }
