Among gram-positive cocci, the incident of isolation of St. aureus has been gradually increased after 1980, since the second and the third generations of cephalospolins which are resistant to $ \\beta $-lactamase have been widely used in clinical fields. The incident of gram-negative bacilli was more dominant than that of gram-positive cocci from the starting year of this study. Haemophilus influenzae and Serratia marcescens have notably and characteristically increased since 1980, and the latter was occasionally isolated from blood and cerebrospinal fluid. Pseudomonas cepatia, known to be resistant to most of antibiotics including gentamycin, colistin, carbenicillin and debekacin, has also been isolated since 1980.
