The prevalence of diabetes mellitus more than 40-years-old were 3.8% and 3.3% in male and female, respectively.When these results of blood glucose levels were judged by the criteria of 50gOGTT made by Japan Diabetic Society, the prevalence of diabetes were 5.8% in male and 4.1% in female, which showed almost similar values to that of the results obtained in other areas of Japan. Higher prevalence of diabetes was observed in patients with obesity, hypertension and hypercholesteremia. Out of 39 diabetic inhabitants, 20 were newly diagnosed ones, which suggests the importance of diabetes survey with blood glucose measurements., 論文}, pages = {13--18}, title = {[原著]沖縄県北部一離島における糖尿病検診}, volume = {11}, year = {1989} }
