We encountered 11 cases of double primary cancer including lung cancer from January 1984 till October 1993. The incidence of double primary cancer accounted for 16.7% in 66 cases of primary lung cancer. The mean age of the patients at the time of detection of lung cancer was 67.0 years. This was higher than 63.4 years in non-double primary lung cancer patients. The ratio of male to female was 4.5:1. Six of 9 male patients were cases aged more than 70 years. The female patients were rather younger. In double primary cancer cases, the site of another cancer was found on the stomach in 3 cases, the kidney in 2, and the uterus, prostate, skin and lung in one each. The histological type of lung cancer was squamous cel carcinoma in 6, adenocarcinoma in 5 and smaH cell carcinoma in one. The cumulative 3 years survival rate in double primary cancer patients was 83.3% and that in non-double primary lung cancer patients was 55.3%. Because double primary cancer was seen often in the older age group who often have pulmonary dysfunction, limited operation and laser therapy or irradiation were the prefered means of treatment. Since early detection of the second primary cancer improves the prognosis, careful follow-up of patients is mandatory after treatment for the first primary cancer., 論文}, pages = {57--61}, title = {[原著]肺癌を含む重複癌の臨床的検討}, volume = {14}, year = {1994} }
