 note = {A case of a 13-year-old girl who developed prosthetic valve endocarditis due to Candida albicans is discribed. The patient had undergone Rastelli's operation with extracardiac valved conduit 8 years ago. The patient was reoperated to replace the extracardiac valved conduit, because signs of infection did not disappear dispite treatment with antifungal agents. The excised valve was calcified and ruptured severely. Pathological examination revealed spores of Candida in the prosthetic valve. Fluconazole was re-administered intravenously 400mg per day intermediately after operation, and the dose was gradually decreased for 4 weeks. Candida albicans could not be isolated from blood cultures postoperatively, and the patient was discharged without any inflammatory findings on the 45th postoperative day. Proshetic valve of endocarditis due to Candida albicans should be treated by a combination of antifungal agents and aggressive reoperation., 論文},
