The patient developed dysphagia and mild chest pain in November, 1985. Diagnosis was an advanced carcinoma of the intrathoracic esophagus with involvement of the left bronchus. He was referred to the University Hospital for treatment, where he was initially treated with chemotherapy (CDDP 200 mg, 5-FU 12500mg) and radiotherapy (30.6 Gy in 17 fractions) prior to surgery. He achieved partial response (PR, about 75%) to the treatment, before esophagectomy was carried out as a follow up. There was an extensive adhesion of the esophageal tumor with the left main bronchus, so complete removal of the mass could not be performed. Residual tumor tissues were left around the bronchus. After the surgery, supraclavicular and mediastinal regions were irradiated (70.6 Gy) and immunochemotherapy (OK-432, 35 KE) was administered. He has been in good condition for the past 8 years since surgery with no evidence of tumor recurrence. We suggest that chemoradiotherapy with esophagectomy may be a reasonable approach to the management of esophageal carcinoma even in a advanced stage., 論文}, pages = {29--32}, title = {[症例報告]術後8年生存中の気管支浸潤食道癌の1例}, volume = {15}, year = {1995} }
