Most of the patients were administered intravenously, 6 million units (MU) of the IFN daily forabout 6 to 8 weeks, with a total dose of 192-375 MU. Of the 13 patients, 3 (23.1%) achieved a complete response, defined as a normalization of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels for longer than six months after treatment was discontinued, and one patient (7.7%) showed a partial response, defined as a decrease of ALT to levels within twice the normal range for longer than six months after withdrawal. In the remaining 9 patients, 4 had a significant decrease of serum ALT during the therapy, but relapsed after the therapy. The remaining 5 patients showed no significant change in ALT during and after the IFN treatment. Side effects (flu-like syndrome, anorexia, proteinurea, etc.) were observed in 11 patients during the IFN therapy but not seen after the therapy. The treatment was well tolerated in all but one patients who suffered from granulocytopenia during the therapy resulting in dropout., 論文}, pages = {199--202}, title = {[原著]C型慢性肝炎に対する$ \beta $-インターフェロンの使用経験}, volume = {15}, year = {1995} }
