Between January 1993 and December 1994, of 274 patients who underwent cardiac or thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery, 10 patients (3.6%) developed serious infection with mediastinitis. Most of these patients with infection were associated with predisposing factors: advanced age, diabetes mellitus or respiratory insufficiency. In four patients, the infection was successfully treated with omental transposition into the mediastinum five to twelve months after the first operation. The remaining six patients died of infection or multi-organ failures three to twelve months after the surgery. We conclude that much clear operation should be kept during surgery and indication for the operation in the patients with predisposing factors should be much severe., 論文}, pages = {97--100}, title = {[シンポジウム]心臓および胸部大動脈瘤手術における術後感染症発生例に関する検討}, volume = {16}, year = {1996} }
