Understanding how to properly deal with cancer notification is quite essential. The purpose of this study was to clarify the differences in awareness concerning the notification of terminal stage of cancer. One hundred and sixty four industrial workers were questioned, and the response rate was 73.9%. The findings were : 1) Between male and female workers, males showed stronger desire to know the diagnosis and the prognosis than females (p<0.05). 2) No significant difference was found between people under and over 40 years old. 3) No significant difference was found between people who had completed higher than college (under graduate and post graduate) and those who had not. 4) No significant difference was found between those who have someone with cancer in the family history and those who do not. 5) Those in administrative positions at work more strongly desired to be informed of the diagnosis of the disease than employees (p<0.05). These findings indicate that an appropriate cancer notification should be made by considering the patient's demographics, especially with gender and position at work, in order to help them improve their quality of life. It is quite an important matter for a patient to have appropriate terminal care in order to decide how to live the rest of his/her life. The intention of cancer notification is concerned with the dignity of a person.
