The findings obtained were as follows: 1, Naha City is the center of the largest medical service areas in the region, followed by Itoman City, Tomigusuku-son and Kochinda-cho as sub-centers. 2. These areas are practically consistent with the medical service areas formed by the insured under national health insurance program and with everyday- life person tripa areas. 3. The medical service areas are influenced by geographical conditions of each municipality and also by geographical distribution of medical institutions. They are particularly affected by new establishment and/or expansion of hospitals, and improvement of their functions. A marked tendency to utilize hospital is seen at cities and urbanized areas, but death at own homes are still common at rural areas and offshore islands. 4. Medical service areas are determined by the nature of diseases caused death. People usually use larger hospitals with 200 beds and more for cancer, use hospitals with less than 200 beds for cerebral vascular diseases, and use clinics which have in-patient care services for heart diseases., 論文}, pages = {254--266}, title = {[原著]死亡からみた沖縄本島南部の医療圏}, volume = {3} }
