Antihypertensive effect of the casein-derived ACE-inhibiting peptide in mildly hypertensive volunteers was confirmed, and then a beverage containing the peptide has been officially recognized as a food for specified health use. Next, we isolated a tripeptide GPR from bacterial collagenase hydrolysate of collagen. Oral administration of the peptide suppressed the decrease in platelet count for endotoxin-induced DIC in rats.
