| 内容記述 | 沖縄県沖縄島から採集された未成熟雄2個体のアミメトビエイ Aetomylaeus vespertilio (Bleeker, 1852) について詳細な記載を行った。本報告は本種の標本に基づく日本における初めての記録であり、沖縄島が本種の分布の北限となる。また日本産アオスジトビエイ属魚類の分類学的再検討を行った結果、アオスジトビエイ A. niehofii (Bloch & Schneider, 1801) の標本に基づく記載はなく、日本近海に確実に生息する本属魚類はアミメトビエイ1種のみと考えられた。 | |||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | The ornate eagle ray, Aetomylaeus vespertilio (Bleeker, 1852), was once recorded from the Ryukyu Islands, Japan, without a voucher specimen. We report on two male specimens of A. vespertilio that were collected from Okinawa Island, the Ryukyu Islands, which represent the first accurate records of the species from Japan based on actual specimens. We described and figured these specimens in detail. These observations from Okinawa Island also represent the northernmost records of the species. Additionally, a taxonomic review of the genus Aetomylaeus reveals that only A. vespertilio may occur in the Japanese waters. | |||||||||||||
