内容記述 Japanese pronunciation is thought to be the first problem for learner of the Japanese from other countries. One of the reasons of the problems comes from the difficulty of categorizing what sounds the native Japanese speaker is pronouncing. It is often observed that people from the same country have a tendency of making the same mistakes when they hear Japanese sounds. This is because each language has a different system of sounds, and the phonemes of each language have different quality and range. The former ones are (vowel+(consonant+vowel)+ vowel), the latter ones are (consonant+vowel). Summary of the results are as follows:\n(1) Japanese・・・・・・Correct response rate are all over 75%.\n(2) Not Japanese ・・・・・・The difference of the highest rate and the lowest rate are large.\n(3) In general, correct response rate of /ra/ and /ro/ are high.\n(4) The correct response rate of Kenyans show a different figure from others. The rate of /de/, /da/, /do/ are very high, comparing with those of other countries.
