The viruses were named as Trichosanthes mottle virus (TrMV) and watermelon masaic virus 1 (WMV-1). Both viruses infected plants only to Cucurbitaceae and were transmitted by Myzus persicae and Aphis gossypii in non-persistent manner. The thermal inactivation point was between 45 and 50C or 50 and 55C, dilution end point was between 10^\u003c-2\u003e and 10^\u003c-3\u003e and longevity in vitro was between 5 and 8 days or 7 and 10 days at 20C in crude sap of Cucurbita pepo. The virus particles were flexuous filamentous, about 750nm long, and the plate-like inclusion found in dip-preparation of infected leaves. TrMV was serologically related to papaya leaf-distortion mosaic virus, but had no relationships to WMV-1 and other potyvirus in immune electron microscopy. WNV-1 reacted with PRV-HA antiserum but not with TrMV and other potyvirus antiserum. 内容記述 本報はケカラスウリから分離されたカラスウリ斑紋ウイルス(Trichosanthes mottle virus : TrMV)およびカボチャから分離されたカボチャモザイクウイルス(Watermelon mosaic virus 1 : WMV-1)の諸性状を記述したものである。TrMVおよびWMV-1はいずれも容易に汁液伝染し,モモアカアブラムシやワタアブラムシにより非永続的に伝搬された。ウイルス粒子はひも状で長さ約750nmであり,dip法試料中には層板状の封入体が観察された。汁液接種によりII科38種植物の感染性を調べたところ,両ウイルスはウリ科にのみ感染し,TrMVはウリ科の13種植物に全身感染し,オキナワスズメウリに局部感染した。WMV-1はウリ科の13種植物に全身感染したが,ケカラスウリには感染しなかった。粗汁液中におけるウイルスの耐熱性(10分)は45&acd;50Cあるいは50&acd;55C,耐希釈性は10^<-2>&acd;10^<-3>および耐保存性(20C)は5&acd;8日あるいは7&acd;10日にあった。TrMVとWMV-1との血清学的関係は認められなかった。しかし,TrMVはPLDMVと相互に反応し,寒天ゲル内でのウイルス間の沈降線はスパーを生じた。WMV-1はPRV-HA抗血清と反応し,ウイルス間の血清的類縁関係が認められた。既知WMV-1に近いウイルスと同定された。TrMVは未記載のpoty virusと考えられるので,カラスウリ斑紋ウイルス(Trichosanthes mottle virus : TrMV)と命名した。なお本ウイルスのウリ科作物での発生は確認されていない。
