内容記述 マスクメロンおよびカボチャのモザイク病株から分離されたウイルスはそれぞれカボチャ・モザイクウイルス(Watermelon mosaic virus)のWMV-Mu系統およびWMV-Sq系統と同定された。WMV-Mu系は汁液伝染し, またアブラムシにより非永続的に伝搬された。10科28種の供試植物中ウリ科の8種植物が全身感染した。ウイルスの耐熱性(10分)は45&acd;50C, 耐希釈性は10^<-3>&acd;10^<-4>および20Cにおける耐保存性は3&acd;5日にあった。ウイルス粒子はひも状で長さ700&acd;800nm幅が約12nmであった。WMVとの血清的関係が認められた。WMV-Sq系は汁液伝染し, またアブラムシにより非永続的に伝搬された。供試した13科39種植物のうちウリ科およびゴマ科の10種植物が全身感染し, またアカザ科およびヒユ科の5種植物が局部感染した。ウイルスの耐熱性は60&acd;65C, 耐希釈性は10^<-4>&acd;10^<-5>および20Cにおける耐保存性は7日以上にあった。ウイルス粒子はひも状で700&acd;800nm幅が約12nmである。WMV-Muおよび他WMVとの血清的関係が認められた。WMV-Mu系はWebbらが報告したwatermelon mosaic virus-1に近縁ウイルスで, わが国ではまだ発見されていない新系統である。一方, WMV-Sq系は国内でも多くの報告のあるWMV普通系統に属するウイルスである。
