of Taiwanhannoki (Alnus formosana Makina), from the view point of forest measurement. The results of the study are as follows : 1. Green weight of stem The relations of the diameter at breast height, the tree height and the volume to the green weight of stem are expressed by following equations. 1). y=0.3869x^\u003c2.1505\u003e where y : green weight of stem (kg) x : diamete at breast height (cm) 2). y=0.0005x^\u003c4.3519\u003e where y : green weight of stem (kg) x : tree height (m) 3). y=0.6789+907.5358x where y : green weight of stem (kg) x : stem volume (m^3) Namely, the relations of the diameter at breast height and the tree height to the green weight of stem are expressed by a curvilinear regression, and the relation with the volume is expressed as a rising linear line. And the green weight increases with the increase of the diameter at breast height, the tree height and the volume. The equations are in conformity with the actual measurements, and the green weight has a high correlation with each factor. Particularly, the relation with the volume shows fairly a perfect correlation as seen from 0.999 of the coefficient of correlation. Therefore, it is considered that it is possible to estimate the green weight of stem from each measurement factor. 2. Mean specific gravity The mean specific gravity has a high correlation with the average specific gravity at breast height, and it increases with the increase of the average specific gravity at breast height. And the mean specific gravity is almost constant in spite of the increase of the diameter at breast height, the tree height and the volume. 3.
