| 内容記述 | これまでフィリピン, インドネシア, マレーシアおよびパプアニューギニアから知られていたNemenzophyllia turbida Hodgson & Ross, 1982が, 西表島網取湾内の礁斜面下端, 水深40 mの砂泥底から得られた. 本種は, 当初チョウジガイ科Caryophylliidaeとされたが, 現在はPlerogyridaeに属する1属1種の有藻性イシサンゴである. 本報告は標本に基づく日本初および北限の記録であり, 本種の標準和名としてハナビラサンゴを提唱する. | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The zooxanthellate scleractinian coral, Nemenzophyllia turbida Hodgson & Ross, 1982, previously recorded from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea was collected from a sandy-mud bottom at a depth of 40 m at the lower end of a reef slope in Amitori Bay, Iriomote Island, Ryukyu Islands, Japan. This species was originally assigned to the family Caryophylliidae, but currently belongs to the family Plerogyridae. This report represents the first record from the Japanese waters and the northernmost record of the species. A new standard Japanese name, “Hanabira-sango”, is proposed for this species. | |||||||||
