The initial experiment was taken place applying the hunting reaction test by Nakamura\u0027s method which is examining a local vascular response to coldness for the sixty immigrants from mainland Japan in comparison with fifty-seven controls natively residing in Okinawa. This experiment included maneuvers of cold water immersion of index fingers for 30 minutes with continuous measuring of surface finger skin temperature. The complex of results for these measurements were expressed as Resistance Index (R.I.). The series of these experiments were performed twice at the Summer and subesquent Winter periods. In order to review the quantitative trends between the immingrants and the natives of Okinawa with climate affection, we have accepted a certain related variables including R. I., and, those are such as height, weight, subcutaneous fat, L.B.M., pulse rate and metabolic rate. The comparison of means and standard deviations of these variables between those of Summer and Winter or immigrants and natives revealed no significant difference except a depleted metabolic rate and an elevated temperature rising time in Winter experiment. For the following procedure, the principal component analysis with these seven variables was performed for all the objects dividing into those of Summer and Winter experiments or those immigrants and natives of Okinawa by Facom M-180 computor system. Reviewing the results of each principal component analysis, an accumulated contribution rate up to the third component existed more than 60 % in both analysis, and these factor loadings of variables which are considered to be structural factors were extended to the first component, and, these factor loadings of variables thought to be functional factors such as R.I., metabolic rate, pulse rate and subcutaneous fat were spreaded to the second component in both analysis. Those individual scores on these two analysis existed similar deviations to the findings of these factor loadings. Therefore, it is agreed that the first principal component could be regarded as morphologic factor and the second principal component as metabolic factor. Also, from the results of these two individual principal component analysis, we have impressed that the difference of local cold tolerances is more greater for those of findings between Summer and Winter experiments than those of geographically divided. And also these findings have accorded with the basic statistic distribution of these variables.
