"近年,日本の各地で植物工場の研究開発が進められている.O_2はCO_2と同様に植物の光合成や光呼吸,暗呼吸に関わる環境要因の一つであり,短期的な低O_2処理は光合成速度を高めることが知られている.しかしながら,栽培規模での長期低O_2処理が及ぼす影響の知見は十分ではない.本研究では,まず短期の低O_2処理がホウレンソウの光合成速度に与える影響を調査し,低O_2環境下では光合成速度が高まることを確認した.次に,長期間O_2濃度およびCO_2濃度を制御できるグロースチャンバーを製作し,長期の低O_2かつ高CO_2処理がリーフレタスおよびホウレンソウの生育および光合成特性に与える影響を調査した.その結果,長期間低O_2環境で栽培した植物体は葉面積および比葉面積(SLA)が有意に減少することが明らかとなった.また,低O_2環境で栽培した植物の葉の窒素含有量も有意に低下していた.さらに,短期の低O_2処理で確認されたような光合成速度の増加は確認されなかった.以上の結果から,暗呼吸の低下により窒素吸収が低下したことが生育低下の要因であることが示唆された.",
