内容記述 本研究は亜熱帯地域の野草地における植生の季節的変化や乾物生産および太陽エネルギーから放牧牛の増体蓄積エネルギーまでのエネルギーの流れを調べるために行った。その結果, 野草地ではどの時期においてもススキ(Miscanthus sinensis Anderss)とセンダングサ(Bidens pilosa L.F. decumbens Scherff)が優占し, 入牧時の現存量は2期目を除き432∿564g/m^2の範囲であった。放牧期間中の採食量は平均して332g/m^2であり, 日増体重は2期目に最高値0.88kgを示した。野草地における年間の光エネルギー利用効率は植物蓄積エネルギーで0.499%, 摂取エネルギーで0.545%, 可消化エネルギーで0.225%, 代謝エネルギーで0.185%, 増体蓄積エネルギーで0.008%であった。以上のことから可消化エネルギーと増体蓄積エネルギーの段階において光エネルギーの利用効率が寒地型牧草や暖地型牧草の放牧草地と比べ低いことがわかった。
