When the edge tip is chamfered, the magnitude of the backing is increased. 3) The fraction of the sheared area of the cut cross section is hardly influenced by the shape of the edge tip. 4) The dimensional error of the blanked product varies with the plate thickness of the work. When the work is thin, the effect of the edge tip shape becomes remarkable.
