内容記述 小児がん等で突然長期入院になり、かつ、治療や補装具等でADLが低下して病床での生活を送っている児童は、以前できたことができなくなったことや自由に活動することが困難になる。そのため、家族以外の他者との関わりを拒んだり、学習に対する意欲を持てなくなったりするなど、他者や学習、外界へ「向かう力」が低下し、長期入院に伴う心理的不安や苦痛を抱えて過ごすことが多い。このように、心身ともに不安定な状態の児童に対して病院内での教育的支援を行うのが病院内訪問学級である。そして、病院内訪問学級担任の役割のひとつとして、家族や医療スタッフとの連携を図って児童との関係性を築いて童のADLを高め、その後の他者や学習に対する「向かう力」を引き出し、児童の心理的安定に寄与することがある。そこで、児童の心理的安定を図るための手立てとして、瀬底らが提唱する発達障がい児へのトータル支援(TGS:トータルグループサポート)の理念を活用した。本研究では、1年間の長期入院中の小学校高学年児童のADLを高め、他者や外界への「向かう力」を高めた実践について報告する。
