本稿の目的は，批判的思考力育成教育をどのように構想するのがよいのか，その方向性を検討することである。授業実践を構想する方向性としては大きく分けると，概念駆動型と問題駆動型がある。しかし概念駆動型で授業を構想したとしても，学習者の課題（問題）が視野に入っているのであれば，結果的にそれは問題駆動型と同じになる。学習者の課題を解決することが実践の最終ゴールであることを忘れてしまうと，方法が目的化してしまう。以上を踏まえ，中学校教師に校内研で，批判的思考の概説をした後で，「批判的に考えてほしいのに考えていない場面」について自由記述を求めた。２回に渡ってそれを行い，出てきたものをグルーピングした結果，「他者の意見を鵜呑み」「正解志向」「考えようとしない」「拡散の弱さ」「吟味不足」「判断の弱さ」「問題発見の弱さ」というグループが見いだされた。特に根底にあると思われる正解志向という考え方を教育のターゲットに入れる必要性などを論じた。
